8th annual Girls Engineer it! Day (GEID)

We request your participation in the Expo at our 8th annual Girls Engineer it! Day (GEID) organized by Society of Women Engineers – Savannah Coastal Empire. This year’s event will take place on September 21st, 2019 at Woodville Tompkins Technical and Career High School in Savannah.
Our goal is to make an impact in STEM among 300+ middle and high school students from the area with this event. Participation is free and the expo lasts from 12 – 1:30pm.
We start the day with an expo hosted in the school’s gymnasium for the students and their parents to get them excited about GEID and find out what is available to them locally should they pursue a STEM career. Your FREE booth can include handouts, hands-on demonstrations, etc.; it will be up to you what is preferred to showcase.
After the expo the students learn some fun hands-on engineering classroom activities taught by local STEM professionals from 1:30 – 5:30pm. If you are a University, we request that you stay from 1:30 – 2pm, as we offer informational sessions for parents concerning college choices to encourage continuing the student’s STEM learning.
