High Museum STEAM Teacher Seminar
Saturday, April 25, 2020
9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
In this interactive professional development workshop, educators will learn about the behind-the-scenes exhibition design of Speechless: Beyond Sense. This exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in distinct interactive spaces—each created by a world-class designer. Speechless intends to foster inclusion, empathy, and a greater understanding of how we experience the world through our varied senses by merging exploration, aesthetics, and innovation. In the workshop, teachers will explore the design thinking process as a tool to teach students meaningful twenty-first-century learning skills, a method to connect subject-area learning outcomes to the world beyond the classroom, and a path to discover the various ways the High Museum supports student engagement and education.
