STEAM Training: Georgia Department of Education and Booth Museum of Western Art

The Georgia Department of Education and Booth Museum of Western Art will partner on February 6th for a training on STEAM education and the importance of the arts in interdisciplinary teaching and learning. This session is one of a series of statewide STEAM trainings to support schools interested in GaDOE STEAM Certification. As a result of this training, participants will walk away with a better understanding of STEAM, teaching techniques to take back to the classroom, and an understanding of the importance of community partnerships in creating a STEAM school culture.

8:00-8:30 am- Check-in

8:30-9:30 am- GA DOE STEAM certification and requirements

9:30 -11:00 am- Booth STEAM program- hands-on workshop

11:00-11:10- Walk to BHM

11:10- 11:40 am- Bartow History Museum STEAM activity- pigment dyes

11:40- 11:50- Walk to Grand Theatre

11:50- 12:35 pm Grand Theatre STEAM program- hands-on workshop

12:35-1:00 pm- Walk to Booth for final Q & A
